This post starts a topic less-widely valued by the general IT public. Tutor talk is about issues that concern tutors in general, and sometimes IT tutors more specifically. I will probably move “tutor talk” posts to a separate page in the near future. For now, this is what my IT blog offers for a start.
As part of my training for the Certificate of Tertiary Teaching and Learning (CTTL), I am required to post reflections for my Moodle course design. I had started this exercise previously on a Moodle blog but opted to utilize this previously setup external blog as an initiation in English IT blogging (the Arabic counterpart is here, my other English blog is here).

The Moodle course I'm working on (Java Programming with Bassam Bokhowa) for this CTTL-based course was started by "restoring" a Moodle backup of a live course page currently offered at the Bahrain Polytechnic; ITB5008. Reason for this being, I had been assigned the responsibility by the ITB5008 course team for planning, designing, and implementing all the current ITB5008 Moodle course page elements. Therefore, much of the design decisions needed for this CTTL-based course had already taken place in that previous experience which I am now simply leveraging.
It may also be interesting to note that a major underpinning for this decision lies in my belief that technology only starts becoming an efficient catalyst of change when re-use and rapid redeployment of resources takes place electronically because of it. This may be the reason for much of the buzz surrounding "share" capabilities added to previous and currently successful web-based services in the more recent years of the Web 2.0 explosion.
That been said, I have changed - and will be further adding to - this course's material in response and according to the stated course requirements and the listed marking schedule.
